My first aquaponics system
Submitted by TonyT - aka LV on April 1, 2010 - 20:48I got put onto aquaponics by a friend from work, after seeing his set-up I knew I had to give this a try.
The first system had to be a small and cheap set-up so I could learn about how everything works.
Costs so far are as follows:
* 1000 litre IBC - $180
* Submersible pump (4800lph) - $80
* Various fittings, timer and poly pipe - $75
* River gravel 20mm 1/2 metre delivered - $71
A grand total of $406 to have a system to cycling stage.
